Modern Day Slavery Statement
Introduction
JSW Marketing Uniwear LTD is committed to conducting its business ethically and with integrity. We
recognize that modern slavery and human trafficking are grave violations of human rights and must be
eradicated. This statement outlines our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in
our operations and supply chains, in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Business
SW Marketing Uniwear is a micro company operating in the supply of merchandise to retail outlets within
the University Market. JSW Marketing Uniwear is a family run business and has been in the industry for
over 30 years. Our offices are based in the West Midlands. We work with a large number of suppliers, most
of whom are based in England and Pakistan.
Our annual turnover is under £36 million and therefore we are not legally obliged to report on modern
slavery. However, we are committed to ethical procurement, so this document is our Modern Slavery
Statement and has been created in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
Ethical Conduct: Conducting all our business activities with the highest ethical standards.
Respect for Human Rights: Respecting and promoting human rights in all our operations and business
relationships.
Transparency: Maintaining transparency in our efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
To uphold our commitment, we have implemented the following policies:
Code of Conduct: Our Code of Conduct outlines the ethical standards expected of all employees and
suppliers, including the prohibition of forced labor, child labor, and human trafficking.
Supplier Code of Conduct: We require our suppliers to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which
includes strict provisions against modern slavery and human trafficking.
Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage employees and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to
modern slavery or unethical practices through our confidential whistleblowing channels.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
Given the size of our company, we undertake a proportionate approach to due diligence and risk assessment:
Supplier Assessments: We conduct risk assessments for our suppliers to identify any potential risks of
modern slavery and human trafficking. We prioritize high-risk suppliers for detailed scrutiny.
Contracts and Agreements: We include clauses in our contracts and agreements that require compliance
with anti-slavery and human trafficking laws.
Employee Training: We provide training to our employees to help them recognize and report any signs of
modern slavery and human trafficking.
Monitoring and Reporting
We are committed to continuous improvement in our practices to combat modern slavery:
Annual Review: We review and update our policies and procedures annually to ensure they remain effective.
Incident Reporting: Any incidents or concerns related to modern slavery are promptly investigated and addressed.
